Finally, a laser phonograph

I was reading Popular Science at the Optomitrist this morning while waiting patiently for my appointment. They had a blurb of new products and featured this one:

Laser Turntable

22 years after the CD hit the market, we have a device that spins your LP's, but rather than using a physical needle to determine the sound to emmit, it bounces a laser off the surface to rock the speakers.

So not only can you play your LPs with modern technology, you don't put any wear and tear on them either. As a former vinyl aficionado, I would continue to argue that the bass still isn't properly produced.

BTW, how many under of you under 25 have even ever owned a piece of vinyl?
