Republican's can be A** H**** too

Just so my liberal readers don't think I am completely one-sided in this whole Palin bashing...

During the convention, Palin, a woman to remind my cave-dwelling readers, said, "You know the difference between a Hockey Mom and a Pit Bull? Lipstick!"

Well, yesterday Obama was discussing McCain's policies on the campaign trail, and said, "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig."

So a whole bunch of GOP folks jumped right on him, claiming Obama called Palin a pig. For the record, McCain himself ued this very line on Hillary Clinton during the campaigh and no one ever accused him of calling her ugly! It's a phrase, it made sense in context and in no way was meant as a diss on Palin.

Unfortunately it's not just the handlers/surrogates in this case - McCain himself demanded an apology and I have seen an advertisement about the statements - I didn't see the tag line, so I don't know if it ended with one of those "I am John Mccain and I approved this advertisement."

Watching FoxNews right now and Obama is schedule to discuss this very shortly. If he wants to turn this election around on a dime, he comes out and says the lunacy must stop and NOT apologize. Standing up, standing firm and acting presidential right now could win him the election on THIS issue. Obama/Biden have been gone from the political landscape for the past 2 weeks, he can get the focus on him by not backing away like a neutered dog from this fight/issue. It's stupid and he should be above it. Let's see what he does.

FYI, the pig comment I would liken to McCain stating "That's like the pot calling the kettle black" about Obama over some issue that fir the analogy and them Obama claiming racism. It happened in a Real World episode that blew up so fast all parties lost aspect control We'll see where this campaign goes and this could be a bell weather moment for both sides.
